If your Teak furniture needs cleaning this can be done with a normal household bristle brush and some warm mildly soapy water. Wash down afterwards with clean water. There are also proprietary cleaners on the market which can also be used to clean off various deposits and accumulated dirt and stains.

We do not recommend the use of high pressure hoses, and steel wool or steel wire brushes should not be used at all as any residue left in the grain will rust and discolor the wood. We also not recommended apply teak oil to your furniture.

If the furniture has some stubborn and heavily ingrained stains these can be removed by sanding with a fine grade of sandpaper, being sure to work only with the direction of the timber grain. After sanding stains away like this, if the furniture was previously teak oiled you may wish to re-oil, or if it had previously been left natural, the fresh teak color exposed by sanding will soon mellow in with the existing silver grey patina.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798116379651426879.post-30361322736494264822011-08-09T07:48:00.000-07:002011-08-09T07:50:47.555-07:00Applying Teak Oil is Not Recommended For Teak Furniture

Teak furniture is low maintenance product. Should you decide to treat your furniture with oil or other protective products, we recommend that you wait at least 2 weeks before applying any product and that the furniture be thoroughly washed as described above and dried at least 48 hours. Teak wood is really a compacted, rough, close-grained hard wood. It has substantial quantities of resinous natural oils that ensure it is naturally resistant against dampness, resistant to bugs, and resistant towards the dehydrating effects of climate.

Teak wood also includes silica, a sand-like element which generates a solidity to the wood which allows it also to be proof against fungal rot, water, decaying, warping, shrinking, swelling and many harmful chemical substances. It won't rust precious metals it touches also it can endure the weather of all conditions, using its beauty raising with its age.

No other wood comes even close to teak wood concerning its strength, beauty, elegance, stability and low maintenance; which makes it the best material option for furniture construction, home furniture and ship constructing around the world.

Teak wood is used to make outdoor furniture which involve resistance to the elements. Teak is applied for home furniture due to the fact of its natural durability in extreme climate conditions and for the reason of its relative rarity. Being more costly than most other hardwoods, teak furniture has become something of a status symbol. Not only is it common for a teak chair, bench, or table to last 70 years standing out in the elements, it is also common to pass down like pieces of furniture to long term decades as a heritage.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798116379651426879.post-84928498107738216052011-08-07T08:24:00.000-07:002011-08-07T08:30:37.126-07:00Ilah Performance Traditional Art

"ILAH"

Before being called Seudati, this perfor-mance was named Ratoh which means to tell. Ratoh was used to tell about al: aspects of the people's life using happy. sad and courageous stories. Islam disseminators mostly come from the Arab land, so the Arabic language was used in carrying out their task. That is the reason why Ratoh gat influenced by the Arabic terminology such as syahadatain and syahadati and saman became meusa-man which means eight persons. Both terms are still in use up till now. There are also people who say that seudati is derived from the word seurai which means in harmony or unified.

Pattern of performance
The Seudati performance is led by a Syech who has two assistants named Apek Syech who sit at both ends of the front row. There are eight players in the seudati dance and they are divided into two rows, meaning that each row consists of four players. In the seudati performance which is made up of several parts, the Syech leads the players in singing the songs and in performing his task the Syech is assist-ed by the Apek Syechs and other singers who are called Aneuk Syahi. The Aneuk Syahis place themselves at the right and left side of the stage. The Seudati perfor-mance is initiated by "saleum" or welcome greetings from the Aneuk Syahi while the other players make start the movements of the performance with for instance, tapping their chests, making swaying movement, flicking their finger tips according the rhythm. After that then comes the Sych's, turn to say his introduction which is followed by all players including Aneuk Syahi. The intro-duction of Aneuk Syahi or of the Syech together with all players is directed to the audience. The introduction relays words of welcome as well as gratitude to the host and the audience.

The pattern is as follows

Bak Saman : Bak Saman is a position where all players stand up and make a circle in the middle of the stage to tune their voice and to decide the likok.

Likok is the dance movement made by the players without any sound except the voice of the Ancuk Syahi' Likok shows the harmony as well 'as the agility and the skill of the players, move-ment according with the rhythm in command of the Aneuk Syahi when he mentions certain words. At the same moment the other players make a spe-cial movement and the speed of the movement depends on the speed of the Aneuk Syahi's command.

Saman is first said by the Syech anc.: followed by the other players un reply. Then the Aneuk Syahi reads various poems or rhymed verses which contain advice or jokes.

Lanie is the final dance, performed the end of one act. It is meant to relax the audience after concentrating on the previous act's movements. Lanie an important part of the Saudati per-formance especially in competitions.

Story
Furthermore, apart from the aforementioned potentials of the country, there are certain facts which will drive more and more foreign tourists to visit Indonesia, namely :

A sounder national stability

The relatively low travelling cost

The ever-increasing number of inter-national tourists, and the Asian-Pacific region becoming more attractive to the tourists

The confused political situation in certain formerly-tourist destination-regions such as the Middle East and South-Asia

The attitude of the world communities, especially those of the industrialized countries (US and western Europe-an countries), tends to change. • They are seeking for more humaneri-dentities and more natural destinations.

Challenges of Tourism Development
The opportunities and potentials of Indonesia for tourism development are faced with challenges such as

Stronger competitions among tourist destination countries;

The limited access to enter the country, and limited availability of local transportation facilities for visitors to reach tourist destination areas;

The relatively high price of board and lodgings when compared to those of neighboring countries;

A tendency that western tourists prefer other countries of tourist destination owing to lack of information concerning Indonesia;

Poor image and low quality of tourism products which make it hard to enter the world tourism market or even certain countries;

The limited number of and skilled workers in the tourism field;

Only a relatively small part of the people have been participating in efforts to support tourism development;

The relatively low standard of services to tourists which does not reflect a hospitable host;

The visits of tourists have not been effectively used for the marketing of handicrafts and products of the small scale industries
